 New Gold DVD32 New Species

32 New Species Have Been Added in the Gold DVD Version

These new species are recent additions to the North American list of birds. Many have been seen only once or twice in North America.

The American Ornithologists' Union is the governing body that decides taxonomic issues and also decides which species have appeared in North America. AOU members are primarily ornithologists and scientists. The American Birding Association also has a committee that decides which birds can be "counted". They follow the taxonomic decisions of the AOU, but they may differ on whether a species is "countable". ABA members are primarily avid birders.
