Import Photos, Songs and Videos...
These New Media Files Integrate Seamlessly
Import New Photos Import New Sounds
The Gold edition lets you easily import your own photos, songs and video clips right into the program. These "My Media" files will then appear EVERYWHERE - in the Field Guide section, in Side-by-side comparisons and in Quizzes - just as if they had been included on the original DVD!
You may import photos, songs and videos from many sources, including:
1. Your own computer's hard drive
2. The Internet
3. Other CDs you already own.
4. Memory sticks or DVDs your friends give you with photos they took.
5. The ThayerBirding.com web site > Free Images web pages.
You can even add photos you have taken with a digital camera to Guide to Birds of North America Gold edition!
To import media files, simply click the "My Media" tab which appears on each bird's Field Guide page. Then click the Browse button to locate the file to import. Give each media file a caption and you are done! It is that simple.

To find photos on the Internet, go to www.Google.com or www.Bing.com and type in a bird's name. Then click the Images link at the top of the page. For example, here is what you see if you type in Harris's Hawk. Some photos on the Internet may be copyrighted. (Hint: Try typing in the scientific name - you may see a completely different set of images.)
To find great audio recordings, look at these Cornell Lab of Ornithology audio CDs.
[Version 3.9, Version 4 and the Gold version all let you add comments (and photos) in the "My Comments" section -- but these photos will appear only on the Field Guide page for each species under the my Comments section -- they do not integrate with the entire program.]
