Thanks. I sent you a beta copy to test.
We will probably release v3.9 in mid to late July -- anyone else want to try it out?
At the moment the progam seems to work fine. As with most beta testing, the small details drive you nuts and take longer to fix than you expect.
These are the issues we are working on:
1. In Vista, the Raven Lite install screen opens behind the Thayer v3.9 install screen and is hard to see, so the installation program "appears" to be doing nothing.
2. For some folks, Raven Lite is not opening the spectrogram for the bird you selected. We suspect that this is a Java installation issue.
3. We need to do more testing on the "Check for Updates" button
4. The Raven Lite Splash screen appears every time you click spectrogram. We are getting code from Cornell to eliminate this.
5. The path to the media needs to make sure it points to the new version 3.9 media.
6. beta testers came up with four very good suggestions to make the program more user-friendly and we are adding all four of their ideas to the v3.9 release.
As you can see, a lot of the issues relate to the Raven lite spectrogram program. It is a great program, but there is some work to do to get it fully integrated with v3.9. The old spectrogram we used in earlier versions is still available. [$49.95 from www.visualizationsoftware.com ]
