Since there is currently no way to import data from other software directly into a custom list, is there some way I can find the meanings of the "ThingID" codes in a custom list .xml file? Just looking at an .xml file it appears that each ThingID code relates to a specific species.  That way I could convert my life-list to ThingID codes and write a short program to put them into the correct .xml format, solving my problem.
Thanks,
John Thomlinson

Hi John,

Click the Products Tab on this web site. Then click 708 Songs.
That will get you started. The bird names appear on the same line as the ThingID.
For example, Black-bellied Whistling Duck is ThingID 436.

I would be interested in seeing the program you write. Call me at 800-865-2473 ext 102.
