The first batch of version 3.9 CD-ROMs were mailed out this morning. Version 3.9 works on Vista computers. With this version you can download songs AND photos to your iPod or MP3 player. When you install v3.9, a separate program called "Raven Lite" is also installed. This program is from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and it will show you spectrograms -- pictures of the bird's song. Click the v3.9 Features tab on this web site to see all the new additions and to take a look at everything you can do with version 3.9 Here is the Price list for the new version. We are guessing that the Mac version will be sent out for beta testing in 2 weeks and we are hoping to release it by September 15th -- but, like all software, it will be ready when it is ready. Pete, Will 3.9 work with Win XP. I ordered a copy this morning that I intend to install on my desktop which is runing Vista. The question is I also have notebook running XP and has ver. 3.54 . Is there any point in updating on that machine as well or should I keep 3.54.

Hello. Does the software allow one to easily export the songs and pics to a non Ipod mp3 player with photo capability? (I.e. does it let you export to a non Ipod as easily as it woudl to an Ipod or must one take additional steps?) I realize your note above states that this version allows one to export to an iPod or Mp3 player...which would seemingly answer my question in the affirmative, but I'd rather make doubly sure in advance. Thanks!

We believe that non iPods should be able to upload the same .wav file as the iPod. One photo is imbedded within each song - in iPod this would be the cover art image. If you have downloaded songs and images to a non-iPod, we would love to hear from you about your experiences. So far, we have not received any negative feedback.
