Macintosh Update v3.9.3

Every Mac user running v3.9.1 or v3.9.2 needs to update to v3.9.3

If you are running Mac OS X 10.3.9 through 10.5.x do this:

Click to download the Mac v3.9.3 update. [This is a 61 MB zipped file - it is big]

To install the eField Guide Viewer v3.9.3 update that you just downloaded to your computer, unzip the file.

You will see an Installation Instructions text file that you should read first. You will also see two other files. Double-click the file named "eViewer_3.9.3_Update.mpkg" and follow the instructions. 

Ignore the file named _MACOSX (it will be installed automatically when you install the eViewer_3.9.3_Updage.mpkg file). The installation location is the "Thayer Birding Software" folder inside the "Applications" folder (same as the original installation).

After the v3.9.3 update is installed, open the program by clicking on applications and selecting eviewer from the Thayer Birding Software directory. (Double-clicking an existing desktop icon does not seem to open the program immediately after the update is installed.)

 

If you are running Mac OS X 10.3.8 or earlier do this:

1. Using Software Update (located in the Apple menu in the top left of your desktop), update to Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher.
2. Then follow the instructions above.
