Whenever I start my Thayer's, it opens in a small window and I cannot find any trick to make it open full screen. Win XP Pro Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks

When you click the desktop icon for the software, the program should open. In the upper right corner of the screen you will see three small boxes with a  dash and a box (or two overlapping boxes, and an X. This is typical for any Windows program. Click the center box to enlarge the screen. When enlarged, you see two overlapping boxes. Or, when you just one box, you can grab the lower right corner of the Windows -- (where it looks like there is a triangle of braille dots)and drag and drop this to reside the window. Again, this is just standard behavior in any Windows program, including ours.

You might want to move the outer Window around or enlarge it and then shrink it -- sometimes a Window within the outer window get shrunk, and it is hard to see scroll bars. This inner window probably has three boxes to maximize the inner window -- just like the outer window.

This is not quite accurate. 99% of the programs I use in Windows remember if they were closed iin a maximized mode or not. It may be a small complaint but it is a bit frustrating to have to maximize a program every time you start it. I now have version 3.9 of Thayers running under Windows Vista and it has this problem. My previous version 3.5.4 running under Windows XP correctly remembered its state on program shutdown and opened correctly.

We have added this to the to-do list for the next release. As you said, the program "remembers" the last window size in XP -- but Vista seems to not remember.

It will be interesting to see if the Vista service pack 1 (being released next week) fixes this problem! Otherwise, for those keeping score: Bill Gates 1, Pete Thayer 0
