I just installed the Mac version of Guide to Birds of North America—I'm glad you saw fit to sharing the program with Mac users. There are some challenges, however, for those accustomed to typical Mac interface conventions. For example, the opening screen in eViewer has to be resized and repositioned on my laptop for best viewing, but the adjustments are not remembered. In other words, every time the window or the program is closed and reopened, the adjustments have to be made all over again—not very Maclike. The same problem occurs in the Sightings window. Column widths can be adjusted to suit my preference, but the adjustments are not retained, so when the window is closed and reopened it defaults to the original widths. Also, it would be wonderful if the database in the sightings window could be edited directly in each cell (ala a spreadsheet or iTunes)—apparently not a particularly difficult programming feat, judging from the many other programs I use which have that capabiliity. Another small request: In the sightings data entry window, why not allow the location field to be anything the user would wish it to be, much like some of the other fields. And if state name only must be, then why not make the options caps and lower case as in the name field? Why shout the state names with all caps? Finally, when I go to the Sightings print screen and click on the Preview report . . . button, I get a blank page, and I can find absolutely no way to correct it. What might be the problem? Any workaround? The program is excellent in many ways, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it; but my enjoyment would be much greater if some of these niggling problems could be fixed. Thanks for listening.

Thank you! This is EXACTLY the type of feedback we need from Mac users (or anyone).

I am passing all of your comments along to our programmer. I think they are all valid points and should be fixable.

Is anyone else seeing the problem with a blank print Preview report screen? We have not heard any reports of this.
