v3.1 - Cannot Install: "Key is Not Valid"

Problem: I tried installing v3.1 of Guide to Birds of North America and got the message "The License Key you entered is not valid for any of the products this setup program supports."

Solution: This is a very unusual installation message. Please double-check that you entered the correct license key.

Then make sure that the CD is one you purchased. If it was a CD that Thayer Birding Software upgraded for someone else at a reduced price, then the license key has been disabled and the CD will not install.
