v3.5 - I Cannot Add Tufted Titmouse as a Sighting
Solution: You are probably using version 3.1 or version 3.5 and looking at a list of birds, including Aliases, in the drop-down list within "birds I saw."
Birds in bold type are full species and birds in light type are alias names. It is very easy to fix this problem. Go to "Look & Feel" and uncheck the "Show Alias" check box. Now only full species will appear in the drop-down list. Now you can add the Tufted Titmouse as a sighting.
When you tried to add a sightings in the "birds i saw" section, you clicked on the name Tufted Titmouse but this is also an alias for Black-crested Titmouse. That is why it asked you to choose one. The program did not know if you saw a Tufted Titmouse or a Black-crested Titmouse. [This screen should not have appeared in the program -- it is a bug we have fixed.]
This same sort of problem may also occur with other birds that have an alias.
