v3.9 - How Do I Add My Own Photos?

Article ID: 000095

Problem: I want the bird photos I took to appear in the program when I look at a specific bird. How do I do this?

Solution: Click Add/Edit under the My Comments section of any eFieldGuide page. The instructions are in the Help files. Look under "Field Guide - Add Your Own Notes and Photos"

The image can be on your own computer's hard drive OR anywhere on the Internet! For example:
Open the program
Click on Northern Cardinal
Scroll down and click the Add/Edit link just below My Comments
(In Windows) Click on the edit icon that looks like a mountain and a sunrise.
Select the photo source
Change the size to 200-300 pixels wide.
Click OK when finished.

In the Mac version, when you click the Add/Edit link under the My Comments section (half way down the screen on the left) a Note Box appears. You can type notes to yourself in here. But you can also use HTML code to add photos.

The User's Manual will give you examples of how to do this. You can also change the formatting -- but all require HTML codes. Luckliy, HTML code is not that difficult to use, even if you have no idea what HTML code is!!

In the Mac version, it is not necessary to start the path to an image with a C: -- use a format like this instead:

img src="file:///typepathhere\Yellow-headedBlackBird.jpg" width= 200

When you enter a line link this, you must put a < at the beginning and an /> at the end.
