Problem:  I decided to start to use the feature in which I enter my own sightings and comments. I quickly learned that it didn't work as advertised--specifically, I couldn't type in the date, I had to get to the date by manipulating the calender. Then when I wanted to alter a made entry, I found I couldn't. I used the help menu to find out that I was doing what I was told,  but it simply would not erase or change the selected words. Where the help instruction said to delete the whole thing by selecting the "black X", there is no black X.

Solution: Under My Sightings, click the Edit button -- or click the blue Sightings icon at the top of the page. To delete a sightings, single-click on the sightings you want to delete. The black X will then be visible and you can click that black X to delete the sighting.

Editing a sighting is done by double-clicking on any sightings. This opens a new window called Sighting. To change a date or location, just highlight the date, month or year. The text will turn white with a blue background. Then enter the new information. You can also click the small black triangle to see a calendar or a drop-down list of birds and locations. Then click on the date or location you want to use.
