Problem: How can I install the program on my new NetBook computer? There is not a CD-ROM or DVD drive on this computer -- only a USB port. Help!

Solution: I loaded the program onto my new NetBook last week by using a separate computer and a memory stick. On one of your other computers, insert the memory stick into a USB port and insert the disc in the CD-ROM/DVD drive. Then create a folder on your memory stick (name it ThayerBirds) and then copy the entire contents of the CD-ROM or DVD into this folder on the memory stick.

A memory stick costs about $20 and is a small device about 3" x 1" x 1/4" -- you can get them at any office Supply store.

Then insert the memory stick into the USB port on the side of your Netbook. Copy the ThayerBirds folder to the NetBook desktop. Then use "My Computer" to browse to the ThayerBirds folder and double-click the file inside the folder called setup.exe. Then just follow the instructions on the screen.

For those with the v5 Gold edition, you will need to copy the contents of BOTH DVDs into the same ThayerBirds folder. Do not make two folders, even though there are two DVDs.

You will need a 4GB memory stick to do this -- 2MB is too small. For the v5 Gold edition, use the memory stick to move the Disc one contents to your NetBook desktop. Then erase the memory stick and copy the Disc two contents to the memory stick and move the contents into the SAME ThayerBirds folder on the NetBook.
