v5.0 - Uninstalling the Program on a Vista Computer

Solution: First, If you have entered any data such as sightings, custom lists, etc. that you want to keep before uninstalling, make a copy of the database.mdb file. It can then be imported using the File->Import from Previous Version… menu option. On v5.0.x, the database.mdb file can be found at C\ProgramData\Thayer Birding Software\eViewer 5.0\Database folder.

Next, if you have added images using My Media or if you have created Custom Quizzes using your own media, you will want to move the appropriate files to your desktop before beginning the uninstall process.

The file you will need to move is located at C/Program Data/Thayer Birding Software/eViewer 5.0/Custom Media. Right-click on this folder and then drag and drop it onto your desktop. Select "Copy Here". [Please note that you click Program Data, NOT Program Files]

Use the Windows Control Panel to select the Thayer Birding program and just uninstall it as you would any other program. Typically you would select Programs - Uninstall a Program. In classic view, you would select the Programs and Features icon. This will then display a list of programs on your computer. You will want to delete the one called Thayer Birding Software. It is not necessary to uninstall the Raven Lite program when reinstalling Thayer Birding software.
