License Key Already exists - (in Vista Operating Systems)

Problem: I got a newer version of the software, so I uninstalled the old software and installed the new software. But when I try to run the program, the computer is telling me that the license key already exists and I am unable to use the program. Help!

Solution: On Vista computers, using the Control Panel to uninstall the software may not actually get rid of everything. There is a feature in Vista called "virtualization" that also contains data, such as license information that you will need to remove manually.

Look for this in a location such as:
C:/Users/YourName/AppData/local/Virtual Store/Program Files/Thayer Birding Software/eViewer 3.9/Database

You will want to delete everything in the Virtual Store related to Thayer Birding Software.

If you had a very old version of our software installed, you may see a file called C:/Users/YourName/AppData/local/Virtual Store/Program Files/TBS. You need to delete this file as well.

Now try installing the new disc and everything should work fine.
